A strategy refuses to start if there's already a conflicting position on the same symbol on the same venue. You can run two strategies on the same symbol if they're configured not to step on each other — but the engine won't let them open offsetting trades by accident.
If an exchange API rejects three orders in a row, the connection trips a short circuit-breaker rather than burning into your rate limit. The strategies pause cleanly until the breaker resets — the goal is to never get your API key banned.
The minimum useful interval is one candle. Sub-second order-book scalping and market-making sit outside this catalogue by design — the strategies here are configured on a signal + candle model.
